Stylish, Bold & Modern Manor House Wedding in Monmouthshire
On a wet day in September Megan and Gareth had an epic outdoor wedding planned in Monmouthshire. A fun, bold and modern wedding styling with pops of colour in one of my favourite venues Cefn Tilla Court. This modern Manor House wedding venue has such a modern feel and is a total blank canvas. You firstly have the run of the house, choosing a ceremony in or outside. The reception is in a rustic, yet modern marquee next to the house (so much natural light and stones walls - a photographers dream!) and you get to bring in your own caterers. This really means you can create an incredible stylish and modern wedding, choosing everything you want from food to florals.
Relaxed Colourful Outdoor Wedding in Monmouthshire
Megan and Gareth’s wedding day started off wet. Super heavy clouds and it didn’t look like it would clear at all. The morning was relaxed and fun, however there were decisions to make and there was a lot of back and forth. The couple had their heart set on saying their wedding vows by the lily pond terrace. After hours of chats, Megan made the decision, rain or shine they were going for it. The weather cleared for the ceremony letting the bridesmaids walk from the Manor House to the pond, in their colourful, rainbow and modern bridesmaid dresses by Rewritten.
Outdoor ceremony in Cefn Tilla Court
The lily pond terrace is such a beautiful backdrop for a wedding ceremony and I’m happy to report it stayed clear for the entire ceremony. With it being outdoors I could move around a bit more, capturing different angles and perspectives. I particularly loved that their dog was part of the ceremony and had a front row seat.
We then made full use of everything this modern manor house has to offer for a wedding. Throwing confetti from the entrance of the main house. Using the grounds behind the house for family group photos during drinks, while canapés were being served. Even though it rained here and there, all the guests stayed outside under huge parasols the venue had provided. And we of course did some couple photos running around in-between the weather breaks from the lily pond terrace, the beautiful bridge, the manor house itself and the grounds alongside.
Modern Monmouth Wedding Reception
After the drinks reception we headed into the marquee which I always think has an amazing feel. The space is yours to do anything with. This wedding was decorated with so many gorgeous flowers by florist The Foxglove Diaries. The space is used for the wedding breakfast, speeches and then cleared for the party afterwards. And I have to be honest every time I’ve done a wedding at Cefn Tilla Court, the evening party has been utterly hilarious, so much fun going on. Guests making full use of the dancefloor.
