Spring Pastel Modern Wedding at The Mount Without, Bristol.
Spring arrived in the most joyful way for this beautifully modern wedding at The Mount Without. I’m always drawn to city weddings, and this one had it all. From a heartfelt ceremony in this iconic venue, to a lively procession through the town, and a drinks reception aboard a boat that whisked guests off to the pub.
This spring pastel modern wedding perfectly reflected the couple’s personality. Every moment felt personal, joyful, and utterly them. Capturing this day has been a highlight as a wedding photographer.
A Unique Bristol Wedding Venue
Set in the heart of the city, The Mount Without is unlike any other Bristol wedding venue. Its historic architecture, soaring ceilings, exposed stone, and vast windows, creates a dramatic yet versatile backdrop. Teamed with the spring pastels colours against this venue the ceremony was perfect. The ceremony was conducted by a family member making it deeply personal.
Afterwards guests threw confetti outside while enjoying the drinks reception in the courtyard. Meanwhile we captured some family photos and couple photos against this incredible venue. Even with the sun shining, I couldn’t resist taking group photos inside, the space is one of those venues that truly takes your breath away.
Mismatched Pastel Wedding Party Outfits
I have to take a moment for this incredible bridal party. The colours were off the chart incredible, each tone carefully selected to enhance the overall colour story without feeling overly coordinated. The result was a beautifully balanced, editorial-inspired bridal party look. Plus they were such a fun bunch, always wanting to help out, fluff the brides dress and have fun with the photographs.
Drinks Reception on a Boat
After family photos at The Mount Without, the couple joined their guests for the drinks reception. Then came one of the day’s most fun moments: a procession through the town, complete with tambourines and tons of enthusiasm, making this wedding an absolute delight to capture.
Next, we all hopped on the boat for a drinks reception on the canal, this is something I’d never experienced before! It was such a fun and unforgettable drinks reception and the best part was that no one could wander off. Everyone was seated, enjoying the sunshine, sipping drinks, and chatting away, soaking up the joyful day for this wonderful couple.
Pub Wedding at Beeses, Bristol
I hopped off as soon as we arrived and captured a big group shot of everyone on the boat. Next, we got all the guests to create a confetti tunnel (did I ever mention I love confetti?!) While the guests were lining up, I hopped back on the boat to capture a few more couple photos. We shot at each location, the Mount Without, the boat, and Beese’s, Why? Because each was an important part of the day and added its own special chapter to this beautiful spring wedding.
The couple chose to have another small drinks reception at Beese’s to settle everyone in before dinner. From there, the rest of the day flowed naturally: they enjoyed their meal, speeches, and spent time catching up with more guests in the evening. Of course, we also captured a few extra photos as the day drew to a close.
