Chic Summer Marquee Wedding in Cotswolds
There are some wedding days that just feel like summer. Warm air, golden light, champagne flowing and everyone basking in the absolute joy of seeing two friends marry. This chic summer marquee wedding in the Cotswolds was exactly that.
An outdoor Summer wedding ceremony in the Cotswolds.
One of my favourite things about summer weddings is how naturally everything flows. There’s no rushing guests inside, no battling the elements. Just countryside views, drinks flowing outside and one of my favourites… an outdoor ceremony.
The ceremony was beautiful conducted by the Groom’s father which felt deeply personal, guests sang and the bride and groom said heartfelt vows. I always say this, but the in-between moments matter most. The deep breath before walking down the aisle. The squeeze of hands. The laughter when emotions bubble over. That’s what I’m watching for. That’s what I’m quietly capturing.
A Marquee That Felt Effortlessly Elegant
I love marquee weddings because they give couples total freedom. You’re not confined by a venue’s aesthetic, you get to build your own look around it with views for days..
This one was chic but relaxed. Long tables dressed in pops of colours, thoughtful details and the florals by Wren & May were insanely beautiful. These had my name all over it. You know how much I adore flowers and these bright colours with the yellow bridesmaid dresses were incredible for this chic summer marquee wedding in the Cotswolds.
As the afternoon drifted into evening, the light turned that perfect golden shade the Cotswolds does so well. We slipped away for ten minutes of couple portraits in the fields, and honestly, those are always some of my favourite photos of the day. No awkward posing. Just movement, laughter, and that we just got flipping married glow.
Evening Entertainment in the Cotswolds
There was no lull during this wedding. Everyone always talks about ‘the lull’. What does everyone do with the hour after food and before the band begin? This wedding just carried on, guests flowed outside and the Piano Man provided the most perfect cocktail hour. Every single guest swayed, sang along and danced. And the bride and groom? Well of course they ended up on the shoulders of their friends!
Then came the dance floor.
This is where I blend in. Where ties come off, heels get abandoned, and people forget there’s a camera in the room. The best dance floor photos happen when everyone is just letting loose and enjoying the evening to an incredible day.
Why I Love Cotswolds Marquee Weddings
There’s something effortlessly magical about a summer marquee wedding in the Cotswolds: the rolling hills, the soft golden light, and the warm summer atmosphere as guests sip drinks outside and watch the sun set.
As a photographer, my focus is always the same, to capture the feeling of the day, not just how it looked. I want my couples to look back at their gallery and remember the warmth in the air, the sound of their friends laughing, the way it felt when the sun started to dip and they realised they were finally married.
