Bold City Elopement Shoot With Pinks, Reds and a Bridal Suit

Think romantic and modern for this post wedding shoot. Bold city elopement with pinks, reds and a bridal suit, it’s full of pops of pink hues and using Cardiff city as a backdrop.

I know, I know, I’m spoiling you today. City vibes for days, a shoot full of ideas and a reminder you can shoot anywhere and make it joyful and creative with the right photographer.

Why elope? Why have a post wedding shoot? The idea that weddings have to follow certain rules, spend a crazy amount of money and have boring photography is so outdated. I’m all about non traditional weddings. A day for a modern couple to celebrate how they want. Whether that’s in a wedding venue, a pub down the road or a marquee in the garden. Choose the wedding you want!

Post wedding photography Cardiff

For this shoot, I asked one of my previous couples, an excuse to get dressed up again and shoot elsewhere. I’m a huge fan of this, it means we have no time constraints like on a wedding day. We can really take our time in locations and collaborate on some vibrant and fun wedding photography. Sarah wore her second wedding outfit, a bridal suit from French Connection (absolute swoon!) Plus check out her epic shoes!! She teamed it with this beautiful pink and red bouquet created by Anita by Lush Blooms Bespoke Floristry. Anita is a Cardiff florist all about bold, creative and modern wedding flowers, her work is everything I love!

City Wedding Photography

We started at Cardiff Museum, this is one of my favourite spots to shoot at for any Cardiff wedding. It’s undercover and has so many areas in such a small space, that I can shoot at a variety of angles creating unique photographs. We then used the surrounding area around city hall. Rather than use greenery for this shoot, I really wanted to make use of the urban setting, concentrating on doorways and buildings.

We ended this joyful shoot with a pit stop for drinks in Barker, one of my favourite spots in town. I adore Cardiff arcades, again all undercover but so much natural light and what a fun way to get unique wedding photographs. I’m particularly happy I noticed the Barker menus and immediately went to Wes Anderson vibes.
