And then there were memories…

Your wedding day will fly by in the blink of an eye. It’ll be a one big happy blur, full of love, laughter and happy tears. You’ll remember that you said I Do, cut the cake and ate a great meal, but what about those other moments? You’re surrounded by everyone you love and it’s best to not forget about those in-between moments. Moments you won’t even realised have happened.

As a wedding photographer, I’m totally invested in your wedding day. I cry when your Dad sees you as a bride for the first time, I cry when you’re first pronounced as husband and wife. Guess what? I also cry during speeches! I love to be part of a couples day, a glimpse into their lives. But also the power of giving people memories, showing them through photographs, moments that might’ve been lost or forgotten.

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”– Ferris Bueller's Day Off

My approach

My approach to South Wales and Bristol wedding photography is fun and relaxed, I’m documenting all the wonderful moments, from bridal preparations through to first dance and a little but after. I like to concentrate on fun, relaxed photos. The only posed photos I do are the formal ones with family.

I also love to shoot fun shots with your wedding party. We then go off for couple photos, which is always lovely as you’ll actually get to see each other!! These photos again are super chilled out, I want to capture you together naturally, laughing and giggling together. The rest of the day is me documenting it, the speeches, cutting of the cake and the first dance.

After the first dance get a great song on to get everyone on the dance floor. I like to stay a bit longer and capture the madness on the dancefloor.

frequently asked questions

What is your pricing?

Full day coverage starts at £1395, you get me for the day covering bridal preparations through to first dance and a little bit after. You get me, my style, my approach. If you’re looking for Bristol wedding photography, London, Gloucestershire… anywhere. I’d love to be part of your wedding day. I’m there every step of the way through the wedding planning. Whether you want to update me on something or have  a chat about your day. I’m always here, yep I like to chat! You can also check out my pricing page for more information on my collections.

How long will you stay on the day?

As long as you’ll have me. I start with bridal preparations and document the whole day right through to your first dance (and a little bit after!)

Are you a Professional?

I graduated with a First Class BA (hons) degree in Photography Arts in 2007, I then assisted some lovely wedding photographers for a couple of years. And now I’m going solo, I’m a full time wedding photographer and I love it!!

Are you insured?

Yes, I’m insured and so is my equipment.

Do you carry spare equipment?

I love to be prepared, carrying a mixture of different cameras and lenses, so if the unfortunate does happen, then I always have a back up.

Hey we feel awkward having photographs taken, will you ease this?

Honestly, most people are! I’m not just saying it. My approach is to get natural photographs, so for the most part of the day I’ll be snapping away while you’re not even noticing. During the couple shots I like to mix up some relaxed and fun poses while also capturing the natural happy faces.

Do you offer an engagement session before the wedding day?

I cannot recommend doing an engagement or pre wedding session enough, there are so many advantages. An engagement session comes with my top package and honestly it is so worth it. I’ve had couples tell me on their wedding day, how much more fun and relaxed they found having their photograph taken.

You’re getting married, enjoy the lead up, enjoy the planning! Still need a little convincing? I’ve written a helpful post, all about the advantages of an engagement session. And remember your engagement session can take place anywhere. That’s why I list myself for South Wales AND Bristol wedding photography. Got engaged abroad? Then let’s go for it!

What about a second shooter, how does this work?

There are so many benefits of a second shooter, I cannot recommend booking one enough. A second shooter provides more coverage, another set of eyes and more angles. I always start with bridal preparations and sometimes it’s great to see what the guys are up to on your wedding morning, so my second shooter captures groom preparations. A second shooter provides different angles that I sometimes cannot. As much as I like to think I’m a superhero (haha!) I can only be in one place at one time, for instance when it comes to a wedding ceremony. They’re there for the whole day capturing more candids while I’m busy with group shots and capturing the couples portraits. Having a second shooter means more photographs, the cost is £300 for the day. It’s extra so you can add it on as you’re booking or later if you see the benefits too.

How much does a second shooter cost?

The cost is £300 for a second shooter for a full day.

What happens if you get ill?

In the unlikely event of me being too ill to work, I’ll call upon one of my reliable photography friends to help save the day!

How many photographs will we receive?

You’ll usually end up with around 500 (minimum) unique photographs, all hand retouched. This does vary depending on the amount of guests and the length of time I’m at a wedding. However I prefer to focus on quality rather than quantity.

How long will it take to get our photographs back?

I aim to get your finished edited photographs uploaded to your password protected gallery within twelve weeks and then you’ll receive your photography box in the post a couple of weeks after this. A wedding album will take longer.

How do we get our images?

You’ll receive your password protected online gallery to share with family and friends. And here you’ll be able to download all your photographs. This means that all your family and friends, wherever they are living will be able to get digital copies of your wedding too.

Can my guests order prints?

Of course, all of your final photographs will be uploaded to a password protected gallery. You can share this with family and friends and prints can be purchased from there.

You’re based in South Wales, but our wedding is over the bridge, can you help?

I’ll travel anywhere! That’s why I list myself for South Wales AND Bristol wedding photography; I’m often in the West Country, North Wales, London, the Cotswolds the list goes on. So although I’m based in Cardiff, I would be more than happy to travel over the bridge and be part of your wedding day. If it is somewhere hot then all the better!!

We’re getting married abroad, will you come?

YES! I wouldn’t miss it. I love to travel and love to photograph in new places. I’ve captured so many destination weddings and love venues like Chateau de la Couronne. Total swoon!

Can we meet you before we book?

I would love to, please send me a message with your wedding date and venue and I’ll get back to you ASAP to make sure I am available for that date. We would then meet for a relaxed consultation over coffee (or a cheeky glass of wine!) You can get to know me, look over past albums and I can answer anymore questions you might have.

We think you’re the girl for us, how do we make a booking?

YAY!! I’d love to hear from you, send me an email to check I’m available. To secure your date I’ll need the booking form and contract completed and require a £300 booking fee. Once I’ve had all three, I’ll email you a receipt and your date will be secured.
