I’m treating you this week to some inspiration from a recent woodland wedding shoot. I often get asked why do I do these shoots with suppliers when I love real weddings so much. Well these shoots allow me to collaborate with other wedding suppliers, actually chat to them and work with them. A wedding day is so hectic and busy that often I don’t get to see any of the other suppliers involved. I also love experimenting with different styles and looks. It makes me a better photographer because another shoot means I’m learning something new each time.

Woodland Wedding Shoot

This woodland wedding shoot with a fairytale feel about it, is something I’ve always wanted to shoot. But I never quite knew where to begin. Cue, awesome wedding stylist Michelle from Peverley Perfection. We met via Instagram for a coffee and discussed lots of ideas. Peverley Perfection also wanted to do a woodland wedding shoot and within a week she had created a mood board with fantastic ideas, full of props and colours.

One of my favourite ideas being a blue dress for a bride from The Pretty Perfect Boutique. I love to celebrate brides planning their wedding their way. Picking exactly what they love, even when it’s non-traditional (who wants to be like everyone else, anyway, right?!) Having a non-traditional wedding dress is something I swooned over when I saw the mood board. The veils from W Collective were the perfect compliment to the theme of the shoot. Jess creates bespoke veils for offbeat brides and the colours are amazing!! It gives such a beautiful modern, yet timeless feel to this fairytale theme. If you’re looking to add a little bit of colour to your bridal look whatever your colour or theme, W Collective is definitely the place to go! To finish off the look was incredible hair accessories by designer Clare Lloyd who makes intricate and luxurious bridal accessories.

Living Coral

If a blue bridal dress, a colourful veil and beautiful hair accessories isn’t enough for you. Then another aspect was what Gemma from Rock Rose Floral Design brought to the shoot. 2019 ‘Pantone Colour of the year’ living coral. I’ve heard so many brides a bit afraid of this colour, but the way Gemma put the bridal bouquet and table flowers together shows how it can work with anything. Look how incredible it looks with a blue dress, totally dreamy and gives this fairytale wedding look, an incredible vibrant edge to it all.

Wedding Props

The actual woodland wedding shoot took place at Tall John’s in Brecon, a wedding venue where you really do-it-yourself. Peverley Perfection wanted to use the barn as a way to show table set ups following this woodland theme. The table was draped in moss with the flowers in glass jars throughout the centre. The table had a rustic feel and had such creative ideas like the hanging chandelier flowers from the wooden structure. It gives so many ideas for bride to be’s, who are wanting some fairytale and quirky ideas for their wedding day.

Finally check out the cool creative cake table. I personally love the doors as a backdrop (but you know I’m obsessed with doorways). It again adds this rustic feels, but gives such a creative twist with ideas for those couples, not wanting a cake table. And YES! You can rent these props from Peverley Perfection, so don’t worry if you’re thinking, where the heck are you going to find all these props, Peverley Perfection can help with all your ideas. She really does make dreams come true. Bringing awesome suppliers together and getting me to tick off another dream shoot off my list.

I have lots more lovely blogs, check them out here. If you’re a bride currently planning and you would love a topic covered, please get in touch. I’d love to hear from you!
