I’ve wanted to photograph a Penarth engagement shoot since I moved to Llandough three years ago. Penarth Pier is so beautiful and one of my favourite places to visit. I love the pier itself, but there’s so much more than just the pier. The beach front, the promenade, I love going for walks there on a Summer’s evening. So when Mia and Josh said they’d like to practice there ready for their big day, I didn’t hesitate one bit.

Penarth Engagement Shoot

I should start at the very beginning I first met Mia at a wedding fayre, she rushed over to my table after seeing one of my wedding photographs from two years ago, that was also shot on Penarth Pier. She turned to me and said this is exactly what I want. (Check out that wedding here). That week Mia got back in touch and booked, off that one photograph she knew exactly what I’m all about. My style, my creativity. Mia got it.

Now I have to admit, I always get nervous before any shoot, big or small. But Mia and Josh are both massively creative, both working in creative industries, so there was a little added pressure for this Penarth engagement shoot. I loved working with them both so much, they’re ridiculously natural together, making each other laugh, but they’re also very collaborative. They want to work with me to create incredible work. When I sent over their finished engagement photos, I was nervous for their reaction. Is their vision the same as mine? Maybe they only like that one photograph? But Mia quickly replied with an email ‘Thank you so much for these we absolutely love them!!’.

I now can’t wait for their wedding day to bring out my Polaroid camera, to get more creative and to push them that little bit more. I love working with creative couples on their wedding photography. If you’re thinking of booking, send me a message on my contact form. I’m really easy going, I’m always at the end of the phone or email. I love what I do and hope you do too.
