Oxwich Bay wedding photography on a glorious Sunday in May. I could not have been more thrilled to have been invited to capture Jenna and Chris’ wedding day. Each wedding is unique and special to me. Some are the start of great friendships and there are others, when you already know the bride or groom. It had been a long time since I’d seen Chris (we’ve known each other since Secondary school) but he is still as warm and kind now as he was then, he hasn’t changed a bit. It was an absolute honour to be part of their day.

Gower Wedding

The morning started like most with the bridal party having hair and make-up done. They then swiftly moved to the bridal suite before anyone started arriving. It was such a special moment to capture Jenna walking down the aisle with her dad and being there to see Chris’ reaction. Who’d have thought all those years ago that I’d be capturing this moment.

After the ceremony guests moved up to the marquee. The sun was shining so we made sure we got all the formal photographs captured quickly so guests could relax in the sunshine, enjoy the drinks and go for a walk on the beach and breath in the sea air. We decided to capture all of the couple photographs in the evening so the light was softer. This meant that Jenna and Chris could see their guests for longer during the drinks reception. They were also more relaxed after their wedding breakfast and speeches.

Jenna and Chris absolutely smashed their couple portraits. They made it fun and made sure they put the time in. I always find the longer you have the more you’ll relax into the photos. We made full use of the dunes on Oxwich Bay and the beach itself. It was the perfect backdrop for this May wedding.
