And then there were memories...

Your day will fly by in the blink of an eye. It’ll be a one big happy blur, a day full of love, laughter and happy tears. You’ll remember that you said I Do, cut the cake and ate a great meal, but what about those other moments? You’re surrounded by everyone you love and it’s best to not forget about those in-between moments. The love, the laughter and the happy tears. Moments you won’t even realised have happened.

As a wedding photographer, I’m totally invested in your day. I cry when your Dad sees you as a bride for the first time, I cry when you’re first pronounced as husband and wife. Guess what? I also cry during speeches! I love to be part of a couples day, a glimpse into their lives. But also the power of giving people memories, showing them through photographs, moments that might’ve been lost or forgotten.

My Approach

My approach is fun and relaxed. As your day is unfolding I am capturing all the wonderful moments, from bridal preparations through to first dance and a little but after. I like to concentrate on fun, relaxed candid photos. The only posed photos I do are the formal ones with family and friends. We discuss closer to the time a photo list which you fill out to suit you. I also love to shoot some fun shots with your bridesmaids and groomsmen. We then go off for couple photos, which is always lovely as you’ll actually get to see each other!! These photos again are super chilled out, I want to capture you together naturally, laughing, giggling and joking together.

The only part of the day I don’t photograph is the meal (as I think it would be super odd to photograph, haha!) So guests will relax more and I take this time to have a little break, recharge batteries etc.

But I’m still there for speeches and cutting the cake. After the first dance get a great song on to get everyone on the dance floor. I like to stay a bit longer and capture the madness on the dancefloor. These shots are great everyone is having fun and pulling some wicked shapes on the dance floor, haha!

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS YOUR PRICING?

I love to chat weddings. Please message me lots of lovely details including your wedding date and venue and I’ll send over a wedding brochure with more details.

Full day coverage starts at £1295, you get me for the day covering bridal preparations through to first dance and a little bit after. You get me, my style, my approach. I’m there every step of the way through the wedding planning. Whether you want to update me on something or have  a chat about your day. I’m always here, yep I like to chat! You can also check out my pricing page for more information on my collections.

WHAT IS YOUR STYLE AND DO YOU TAKE ANY FAMILY OR FORMAL GROUP SHOTS?

My style of photography is creative, relaxed, and most of all I love to have fun. I like to capture things as they unfold. Documenting everything as it’s happening, no set poses or forced smiles. I like to mix this up with formal shots, which I limit to around eight different group shots, so we can get through them quickly to allow you to enjoy the rest of your day. We discuss a photo plan closer to the time. We organise everything so you can just relax and enjoy every bit of the day. Leave the rest to me!

HOW LONG WILL YOU STAY ON THE DAY?

As long as you’ll have me. I usually start with bridal preparations and document the whole day right through to your first dance (and a little bit after!)

ARE YOU A PROFESSIONAL?

Absolutely! I graduated with a First Class BA (hons) degree in Photography Arts in 2007, I then assisted some lovely wedding photographers for a couple of years. And now I’m going solo, and I love it!!

ARE YOU INSURED?

Yes, I’m insured and so is my equipment.

DO YOU CARRY SPARE EQUIPMENT?

Yes! I love to be prepared, I always carry a mixture of different cameras and lenses, so if the unfortunate does happen, then I always have a back up.

HEY WE FEEL AWKWARD HAVING PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN, WILL YOU EASE THIS?

Of course! My approach is to get natural photographs, so for the most part of the day I’ll be snapping away while you’re not even noticing. During the couple shots I like to mix up some relaxed and fun poses while also capturing the natural happy faces.

DO YOU OFFER AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION BEFORE THE WEDDING DAY?

Yes! I cannot recommend doing an engagement or pre wedding session enough, there are so many advantages. An engagement session comes with my top package and honestly it is so worth it. I’ve had couples tell me on their wedding day, how much more fun and relaxed they found having their photograph taken. Firstly it’s great practice, you get to see how I work, I get to see how you both are together. Secondly you can use the photographs as part of your stationary. I’ve seen mine used as part of the table centrepieces, as part of a slideshow to entertain guests, guestbooks, the list goes on. Thirdly it’s a great way to get to a location you wouldn’t be able to on your wedding day. And lastly why not have more photographs of the two of you. You’re getting married, enjoy the lead up, enjoy the planning! Still need a little convincing? I’ve written a helpful post, all about the advantages of an engagement session.

WE WANT TO DO OUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION ABROAD, WILL YOU TRAVEL?

Heck Yes!

WHAT ABOUT A SECOND SHOOTER, HOW DOES THIS WORK?

There are so many benefits of a second shooter, I cannot recommend booking one enough. A second shooter provides more coverage, another set of eyes and more angles. I always start with bridal preparations and sometimes it’s great to see what the guys are up to on your wedding morning. So my second shooter captures groom preparations. A second shooter provides different angles that I sometimes cannot. As much as I like to think I’m a superhero (haha!) I can only be in one place at one time, especially when it comes to a wedding ceremony. They’re there for the whole day capturing more candids while I’m busy with group shots and capturing the couples portraits. A second shooter means more photographs, the cost is £300 for the day. It’s extra so you can add it on if you see the benefits too.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU GET ILL?

In the unlikely event of me being too ill to work, I’ll call upon one of my reliable photography friends to help save the day!

HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHS WILL WE RECEIVE?

You’ll usually end up with around 500 (minimum) unique photographs, all hand retouched. This does vary depending on the amount of guests and the length of time I’m at a wedding. However I prefer to focus on quality rather than quantity.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET OUR PHOTOGRAPHS BACK?

I aim to get your finished edited photographs uploaded to your password protected gallery within twelve weeks and then you’ll receive your photography box in the post a couple of weeks after this. A wedding album will take longer.

CAN MY GUESTS ORDER PRINTS?

Of course, all of your final photographs will be uploaded to a password protected gallery. You can share this with family and friends and prints can be purchased from there.

WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

I’m from Swansea in South Wales, but I’ve recently moved to Llandough just outside of Cardiff. I cover everywhere!

WHERE DO YOU WORK? AND WILL YOU TRAVEL?

Most of the weddings I have photographed have been based in South and West Wales. But I will travel throughout the UK and beyond. If it is somewhere hot then all the better!!

CAN WE MEET YOU BEFORE WE BOOK?

I would love to, please send me a message with your wedding date and venue and I’ll get back to you ASAP to make sure I am available for that date. I would then love to meet for a relaxed consultation over coffee (or a cheeky glass of wine!) I can hear all about your plans, you can look over my previous work and we can get to know each other.

WE THINK YOU’RE THE GIRL FOR US, HOW DO WE MAKE A BOOKING?

YAY!! If you think we’re a match, send me an email and I’ll get a booking form and contract out to you. To secure your date I’ll need the booking form and contract completed and require a £300 booking fee. Once I’ve had all three, I’ll email you a receipt and your date will be secured.
