My first destination wedding and boy what an incredible time we had! I first met Hannah and Sam at a wedding fayre when they joked, asking how far I'd travel. Of course I'd go anywhere a couple asked...somewhere warm... even better! And like they say, the rest is history.
The Chateau de la Couronne did not disappoint, just wow, photos really don’t do it justice at all. The outside is just incredible, the building itself, the walls, the doorways, the grounds. And even the inside it was so well lit and such an interesting space, with so many different rooms to see and use.
The morning of the wedding was super busy in the Chateau, guests finishing off their breakfast, and some getting ready. And of course the room where hair was being done by Hannah and Stephanie was very fun. Bridesmaids popping in and out and helping out wherever needed. I really wanted to use different aspects of the Chateau for the detail shots of the shoes and dress to really show the setting and there was so much to choose from. And as time got closer it was time for Hannah to have her hair and make up done by Carey Hawkins Make up. Even though we were in France, you can never predict the weather, it rained when I arrived in France, the day after and the morning of the wedding. But as Hannah was due to leave the Chateau, the rain stopped and the sun shone, it was as if someone knew.
Guests gathered in the Church for the service and I have to say how incredible the Vicar was, Jean was very relaxed and fun throughout. The service was beautiful with a few tears during Hannah’s arrival and of course throughout the service. I particularly loved the confetti cannons as the newly Mr and Mrs Dyer walked back up the aisle.
We stopped for a few photos before heading back to the Chateau, where guests enjoyed welcome drinks and canapés. We then spent the time capturing candids of guests chatting and of course some formal photos for the parents. The wedding breakfast went on until the early evening with speeches in between, and a bet between all the guests as to what the duration of the whole speeches would be, this really made the speeches even more fun and I can’t believe two guests won and guessed the same time. After lots of laughs and tears we headed out to do couple photos with the sun coming down it was just beautiful. We even headed to the little town in our rental Fiat 500 to get some shots in front of different buildings and found a field where the sun was setting in the background, just beautiful.
And then the party just carried on, with first dance opening up the dance floor. And guests really letting their hair down and pulling some wicked shapes on the dance floor.
A fun filled wedding day in France, where Mr and Mrs Dyer just made me giggle from start to finish. Thank you for not just an awesome day, but an awesome weekend. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Dyer xxx
