She chatted to me about Polaroid, and I knew this was the bride for me. Lois and Dan are perfect as a couple, they're great fun, a couple I know I'll be in touch with in years to come.

The weather was beautiful and bright on this bank holiday in August. We started the day with bridal preparations in Lois's mum's house. I love photographing all the special details, my favourite was the incrediblely thoughtful touch of having Dan's late mum's necklace as part of Lois's bouquet.

The church ceremony was beautiful with some laughter and a few tears. And outside everyone hugged and congratulated the newly Mr and Mrs White. We made our way over to Manor Park for family photos and waited until the sun was setting for couple photos. This was the perfect time for this, Lois and Dan got time to see each other and on such a bright day, the light is so much softer in the evening.

What an incredible day, I loved photographing Lois and Dan's relaxed, fun Swansea wedding.

Ali and Yuk's wedding - The Bear Hotel, Cowbridge http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/10/ali-and-yuks-wedding---the-bear-hotel-cowbridge Ali and Yuk chose the perfect venue, The Bear Hotel in Cowbridge for their back to front wedding. The sun was shining for a great day of Welsh wedding photography in the heart of Cowbridge. It was an incredible day full of love, fun and sunshine. The venue has such a charm to it, perfect for any type of wedding, but suited Ali and Yuk's fun and unique day.

We started with a chilled out morning with bridal preparation with hair and make-up being done. Then we wandered over to the Cowbridge Physic Garden's for family photographs, it's such a special place, the perfect backdrop for wedding photographs. In the afternoon we moved back to the hotel so all guests could enjoy a drinks reception in the courtyard, and of course there was much excitement seeing Ali in her wedding dress for the first time. Guests then got to enjoy a sit down meal, with the children having fun wearing their Star Wars ponchos (just in case of any spillages!). And at 4.30pm Ali and Yuk finally said their I Dos, and then danced the night away.

A brilliant family fun wedding, with a Star Wars twist, a 'Little Best Man' and of course their first danced was the Conga.

Emma and Jamie's wedding - The King Arthur Hotel http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/10/emma-and-jamies-wedding---the-king-arthur-hotel Where do I start with this amazing Summer wedding. It was the perfect start to a bank holiday weekend celebrating Emma and Jamie's  Gower wedding day at The King Arthur Hotel in the Gower. The sun was shining for their rustic and laid back wedding, a day filled with love and laughter, great for some Gower wedding photography. Guests enjoyed a relaxed day in the sunshine with drinks and waffles, and the odd photo (or two!) Everything was incredible from the cake made by a family friend, from the incredible dress designed just for Emma by Katie Darlington. And those flowers by Garden of Eden Flowers were just perfect, adding to the rustic and laid back day. Into the evening the children (and adults, haha!) enjoyed garden games and then got on the dance floor to enjoy a fun evening of dancing. A perfect day for a perfect couple. Sarah & Darren's Wedding - Court Colman Manor http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/10/sarah-darrens-wedding---court-colman-manor
What a day, it rained, it stopped, it rained some more and then the sun shone. I got to be part of Sarah and Darren's awesome wedding day, they married in St Matthew's Church in Neath, and then their reception was held in Court Colman Manor. A beautiful day, rain or shine Sarah and Darren were going to have fun (this is what it's all about!) we enjoyed garden games, popcorn and lots of laughter. And I just loved the flowers by Eve Francesca Designs, the sunflowers really showed what sort of day we were going to have.

A fun day where everyone just kept smiling. Congratulations Sarah and Darren xxx

Lynzi and Sean's Wedding - Court Colman Manor http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/10/lynzi-and-seans-wedding---court-colman-manor A Sunday with rain and sunshine for Lynzi and Sean's August wedding day, but this didn't dampen anyones spirits. The day started with bridal preparations which is always great fun, I get to meet all the girls, and everyone is so excited about the day ahead. As the ceremony time drew nearer, a few tears were shed by Lynzi and her father. Walking down the aisle being sung by friends Into the Arc was even more significant. My favourite part was the sand ceremony, such a beautiful idea to symbolise the joining of the family and in particular for Lynzi's children. I felt that this was such an incredible thing to, it was so simple yet symbolised something so important.

The rest of the day we enjoyed fun photos, some drinks and a few more raindrops. Rain just makes you get more creative, but you really have to have fun with it, and Lynzi and Sean were really great at trusting my ideas. It was an amazing day filled with love and laughter, with touches of rose gold, skulls and cameos, total swoon! Congratulations xxx

Jenna & Anthony's Wedding - Penarth Pier & Maes Manor Hotel http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/9/jen-ant
Jenna and Anthony were married in Saint Joseph's church in the heart of Penarth and their reception was held in Maes Manor Hotel in Blackwood. It was an incredible Friday in August, we had some showers in the morning and then the sun shone ready for us to take photos at Penarth Pier (one of my favourite places!). A fun day with so much love and laughter, and one of my many highlights was the epic wedding cake by Heavenly Exquisite Desserts, which definitely had the Welsh and English theme throughout.

We had a lovely relaxed morning with all the girls getting their hair and make-up done together, some bacon sandwiches and of course a few sing a long tunes! The ceremony was beautiful in Saint Joseph's Church, with Jenna and Anthony saying their 'I Dos' surrounded by their loved ones. And as we were due to head to the pier the sun came out and brought everyone with them. Penarth Pier was super busy with some people stopping the newly Mr and Dr Walters offering their congratulations and some passers by simply wanting to look at how beautiful Jenna looked. We then enjoyed some time on the pier and along the front for some couple photos, before heading off to their reception at Maes Manor.

We had a little bit of rain here and there, but it stopped for a few photos and for guests to enjoy and relax in the court yard overlooking the grounds of Maes Manor. The evening carried on with a father and daughter dance (which I think everyone cried at, it was beautiful) before Jenna and Anthony's first dance.

A beautiful wedding day, with so much love and laughter, and a small rivalry between the Welsh and English (haha!)

Joanne & Jaimie's Wedding - The Orangery Margam Park http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/8/joanne-jaimie Joanne and Jaimie’s wedding really was two families coming together as one. Everyone knew each other, everyone is from the same village, and they all grew up together. It really is one of those amazing love stories, where Joanne and Jaimie knew each other growing up, went on with their lives and years later, well here we are celebrating their wedding day! And it was epic!! We had so much fun, we laughed all day and danced all night.

The day began with all the girls getting ready, with hair and make-up being done, everyone was excited and Joanne was very very quiet, something I have never seen through all the times we’ve met, haha! As soon as she got her dress on though, she changed, ‘it’s really happening’ and with those words, the excitement really kicked in. She couldn’t stop smiling. The church service was held in St. Theodore’s church in Port Talbot. Where Joanne’s Niece really shone with a solo vocal performance, everyone was blown away. She was incredible, and it was the best gift for Joanne. And with the sun still shining we headed to Margam Park’s Orangery, where guests enjoyed welcome drinks, some photos, and some nibbles.

In the evening we wandered off for photographs towards the castle, so Mr and Mrs Radford could enjoy some time just the two of them (and me taking photos!) And we didn’t stop giggling, I really hope the sheer happiness of this day, really comes through on these photographs.

We ended the day with lots of dancing, Mr and Mrs Radford opened the dance floor with their first dance. It was an incredible day for them, but also an incredible day for me to be part of.

Hannah & Owen's Wedding - The Corran Resort and Spa http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/7/hannah-owens-wedding---the-corran-resort-and-spa I first met Hannah and Owen at a wedding fayre in Carmarthen. They told me all about their wedding plans and I just loved them. We met up for an engagement shoot soon after, at Worm's Head in the Gower. It's not only one of their favourite places, but also the place Owen had proposed. It was such a beautiful place to shoot, and we got to know each other so well, they are both so natural in front of the camera, I couldn't wait for their wedding day. After our engagement shoot together, Hannah and Owen had sent me a 'Save the Date' magnet for my fridge. I absolutely love it, so thoughtful and if I'm honest even though their wedding has past, I'm yet to take it down. I just loved seeing it. I really do love all the people I work with, and things like these just remind me how great my relationships are with my couples.

The big day was finally here, the sun was shining and the bridal preparations were well under way before I arrived. The girls were laughing and joking, having their hair and make-up done, and telling us all about the night before. The guys arrived shortly after, suited and ready to greet the arrival of the wedding guests.

Hannah had her dress designed by Elena Newcombe, who really showed Hannah's relaxed and fun personality with the dress. The big surprise for all the bridesmaids was seeing Hannah's dress for the first time. Lots of gasps and some tears of how beautiful she looked. Everything Hannah chose was completely her, the flowers in her hair, the shorter bridal dress and even changing into sandals half way through the day, it's so important to have your day about the two of you and Hannah and Owen did exactly that.

The ceremony in the Corran Resort and Spa was beautiful, it was my first time shooting there, so I was in love with the natural light coming through during the ceremony. And the archway way covered in real flowers really was the perfect backdrop for Hannah and Owen saying their 'I Dos'. The celebrations continued with an afternoon drinks reception in the grounds of the Corran. While guests enjoyed a few drinks and a photo or two, the newly weds and I popped to Laugharne Castle for our first lot of photographs. And as we arrived back at the Corran everyone sat down for their wedding breakfast and of course the speeches, with tears of laughter and some embarrassing stories, but such great fun.

As the sun was coming down we headed to the beach for a few more photographs, a setting which really captures Hannah and Owen's spirit, they're both so relaxed and fun, it was the perfect ending to a perfect day, with the two of them having time with just each other.

I have to of course mention their first dance sung by John Adams, who was incredible! And also Hannah and Owen really put in so much effort, they took dance lessons before their big day, and it really did show. It was such a great first dance. Guys you rocked it!!

Thank you Mr and Mrs Adams to a fantastic non stop photo taking day... just the way I like it!

You guys are the best, and I loved being part of your special day xxx

Hannah & Sam's Wedding - Chateau de la Couronne http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/7/hannah-sams-wedding---chateau-de-la-couronne My first destination wedding and boy what an incredible time we had! I first met Hannah and Sam at a wedding fayre when they joked, asking how far I'd travel. Of course I'd go anywhere a couple asked...somewhere warm... even better! And like they say, the rest is history.

The Chateau de la Couronne did not disappoint, just wow, photos really don’t do it justice at all. The outside is just incredible, the building itself, the walls, the doorways, the grounds. And even the inside it was so well lit and such an interesting space, with so many different rooms to see and use.
The morning of the wedding was super busy in the Chateau, guests finishing off their breakfast, and some getting ready. And of course the room where hair was being done by Hannah and Stephanie was very fun. Bridesmaids popping in and out and helping out wherever needed. I really wanted to use different aspects of the Chateau for the detail shots of the shoes and dress to really show the setting and there was so much to choose from. And as time got closer it was time for Hannah to have her hair and make up done by Carey Hawkins Make up. Even though we were in France, you can never predict the weather, it rained when I arrived in France, the day after and the morning of the wedding. But as Hannah was due to leave the Chateau, the rain stopped and the sun shone, it was as if someone knew.

Guests gathered in the Church for the service and I have to say how incredible the Vicar was, Jean was very relaxed and fun throughout. The service was beautiful with a few tears during Hannah’s arrival and of course throughout the service. I particularly loved the confetti cannons as the newly Mr and Mrs Dyer walked back up the aisle.

We stopped for a few photos before heading back to the Chateau, where guests enjoyed welcome drinks and canapés. We then spent the time capturing candids of guests chatting and of course some formal photos for the parents. The wedding breakfast went on until the early evening with speeches in between, and a bet between all the guests as to what the duration of the whole speeches would be, this really made the speeches even more fun and I can’t believe two guests won and guessed the same time. After lots of laughs and tears we headed out to do couple photos with the sun coming down it was just beautiful. We even headed to the little town in our rental Fiat 500 to get some shots in front of different buildings and found a field where the sun was setting in the background, just beautiful.

And then the party just carried on, with first dance opening up the dance floor. And guests really letting their hair down and pulling some wicked shapes on the dance floor.

A fun filled wedding day in France, where Mr and Mrs Dyer just made me giggle from start to finish. Thank you for not just an awesome day, but an awesome weekend. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Dyer xxx

Kelly & Lee's Wedding - Marriott Hotel, Swansea http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/6/kelly-lees-wedding---marriott-hotel-swansea Kelly and Lee married in the Marriott Hotel in Swansea, having Swansea bay as the backdrop for most of their wedding photographs was simply stunning

The day started with bridal preparations at Marriott Hotel with Kelly surrounded by all the ladies in her family and her closest friends, and not to mention awesome flower girls! The ceremony was beautiful, with music performed by Scott Morgan, he really set such a beautiful tone for the day, perfect entertainment.
After the ceremony guests enjoyed drinks and an afternoon of live music by Scott. And of course we had to do some family photos with the beach as a backdrop. As the sun came down we went back outside for more couple photographs, and it was just so beautiful seeing the sun setting. And then the party really began, with Kelly being a massive Take That fan and a lot of the guests being fans also, they had a Gary Barlow tribute, Dan Hadfield perform and entertain their guests into the eveing. A night of singing and dancing, such a lovely end to a lovely day.

They had visitors throughout the morning, popping in and seeing how excited the girls were. The ceremony was beautiful with Lauren only being a few minutes late! And after they said their 'I Dos', everyone got to enjoy a relaxed day in the sunshine, and even the dogs came out for a walk and some photos. Zara & Jason's Wedding - Oldwalls, Gower http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/5/zara-jasons-wedding---oldwalls-gower I had such a fun day for Zara and Jason's wedding over the Easter weekend. Everyone was ridiculously excited to see them tie the knot. And what a day it was! Bridal preparations started at Zara's parents house with the girls together having their hair and make-up done. It was such a calm morning, but so much laughter accompanied by a few glasses of champagne! And as the neighbours were waiting to see the beautiful bride, I set off to capture some of Jason and the guests arriving at Oldwalls.

Oldwalls is such a great wedding venue, the staff are always so helpful, the lighting is awesome and there are just so many fun places to shoot at. This day was filled with sunshine, laughter and a few Easter bunnies! Zara and Jason are so much fun and really wanted to make the most of photos, shooting in the day before the wedding breakfast and afterwards into the evening, as the sun was setting. It really was such a beautiful day and these two rocked their couple session.

Kristen and Dan got married in Cuba last month and had wedding number two to celebrate with family and friends in Pontypridd Golf Club. We had a lovely morning with bridal preparations at Kristen house with all the girls together getting pampered, from hair and make up being done, and of course a glass of buck's fizz! We then made our way to the golf club for photos before the guests arrived for the evening reception. Rhiannon & Simon - Pre-Wedding - Oystermouth Castle http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/4/rhiannon-simon---pre-wedding---oystermouth-castle What a great way to spend a day, photographing an engagement session for a great couple before their big day. Rhiannon and Simon wanted to shoot somewhere they could take the dogs and somewhere easy for Simon to walk and decided upon Oystermouth Castle. It is such a beautiful location, even in the rain! And we even popped down to the seafront to get a few more photographs.

We really wanted to make this a family shoot, including their dogs in this session. And as you can see from the photographs, the dogs really loved the camera. I can't wait for their wedding in Llanelli in September!

Kristen & Dan - Pre-Wedding Session - Cyfarthfa Castle http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/4/kristen-dan---pre-wedding-session---cyfarthfa-castle I love doing a pre-wedding session with a couple. We really get to know each other more, they get to see how I work and we just get to have fun. And then of course each couple get more photographs to cherish, and who doesn't love having more photographs to hang around the house.

It was lovely to catch up with Kristen and Dan at Cyfarthfa Castle before their big day, it got me so excited hearing all their ideas and wedding plans. At first this awesome couple were a little nervous being in front of the camera, I can't understand why. Kristen and Dan killed it! They were just so natural in front of the camera, they really relaxed as time went on. And as you can see from their photographs you can really see the love and connection between this amazing couple.

Rachel & Andrew's Wedding - Oldwalls, Gower http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/4/rachel-andrews-wedding---oldwalls-gower I've known Rachel and Andrew for years, back when we were all students working the same part time job. I was ridiculously excited when they asked me to photograph their wedding, I of course said yes, it meant so much to me that they trusted me to capture their wedding day.

We started the morning with bridal preparations, something I always love. All the girls together at Rachel's Mum's house, getting ready for the day ahead, laughing and joking with the odd glass of bucks fizz!

The ceremony and reception was held at Oldwalls, a beautiful venue in the Gower. The whole day was relaxed and fun (right up my street!). What I love most about Rachel and Andrew is that they're absurdly silly, tongues poking out and creating comical poses inbetween shots which made it more relaxed and fun and I got to capture what they're really like as a couple. I particularly loved the faces pulled during the Oldwalls tradition shot drinking and I just loved their wedding cake by Cakes by Katy (incredible!)

The whole day was centred around family, friends and also remembering those that are no longer here (the speeches were beautiful and very emotional). The bride and groom then opened up the dance floor with their first dance and then treated their guests to an incredible fireworks display. A perfect, fun, February wedding. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Miles.

Rhian & James' Wedding - Liberty Stadium, Swansea http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/1/rhian-james-wedding---liberty-stadium-swansea I first met Rhian and James at a wedding fayre, they told me their ideas about getting married in The Liberty Stadium in Swansea, and I was so excited, I listed a bunch of photo ideas, different things they could do to take full advantage of the stadium.  I think they were taken a back by my enthusiasm of such a different wedding venue.

Rhian and James got married on a Thursday in November, they had to choose their date around the football fixtures, so a Saturday was out of the question. The only thing about it being on a Thursday was Rhian's son had an exam on their wedding morning… typical! But he was all smiles afterwards, phew!

The morning was fun and relaxed where all the ladies of the family were around Rhian's mums getting pampered. They then made the journey in style in a vintage VW Camper Van  and a VW Beetle for the bridal car.

Rhian and James got married with the Swansea City FC pitch in the background. It was such an incredible space and such a different place to get married. We then wandered around taking photos while the guests enjoyed some drinks. We explored the press room, the dug out, the stands and even the home changing rooms. It was amazing, and Hayley that took care of us suggested so much to really make sure we were getting the most out of the time.

Although there were elements of a football theme, the venue, the football table, the XBox games, for me the main element was fun. They offered such a variety of different things to really make sure their guests enjoyed. I loved Luke the Close Up Magician, he was entertaining for everyone and the reactions I caught were fantastic. I even caught some of the Grandparents following him from table to table as they were so fascinated. Another personal touch was the characterchers, a gentlemen sketching guests, so instead of a typical photo from a photo booth to go home with, each guest went home with a charactercher of themselves, something I really loved.

Alison & Rob's Wedding - Craig-y-Nos Castle http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/1/alison-rob My first wedding in Craig-y-Nos Castle, and boy what a venue for an awesome couple. The end of September saw me capturing Alison and Rob's wedding, we enjoyed the last bit of Summer sunshine. Rain or shine this venue has a lot to offer, a photographers dream! We made use of the grounds in the day and then during the evening we had fun around the inside of the venue.

Alison and Rob chose navy and teal colour theme, teal is Alison's favourite colour, all her guests had even expected her to arrive in a teal wedding dress, so she surprised them all with a beautiful ivory dress! The whole day was very relaxed, with the guests enjoying the warm weather outside while we went off for photographs. They really made use of the whole venue using different parts throughout the day.

I had a fantastic day, I felt like a guest and even got thanked in the groom's speech!! What a perfect Welsh wedding to capture.

Lucy & Ian's Wedding - Llangyfelach Church & Mansion House Llansteffan http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2017/1/lucy-ian---llangyfelach-church-mansion-house-llansteffan It's so wonderful to get asked to be the wedding photographer for any wedding, and a little more nerve-racking when it's someone you grew up with. Lucy and Ian got married in the village we grew up in, in Llangyfelach church. The church hadn't changed a bit since primary school. And the special service was held by Lucy's Step Father, I love these touches, everyone having a role to play on the day. It really makes it more special.
After the service we got Missy the dog to pose for some photos at the entrance of the church with the bride and groom, before heading off to Llansteffan Mansion House.

The reception was beautiful, a place that is perfect for any wedding, the view is incredible and rain or shine the venue has lots of options for photos. But this day the sun shone so we were able to take full advantage of shots outside.

Lucy and Ian had a fun and quirky theme. Ian's job when they met was as Lucy called it a 'Pirate Fighter' and he proposed on a beach with X marks the spot. These moments added to their theme allowing them to create an elegant colour scheme with elements of pirate, from table names to the cake… the cake was just wow!! A perfect and fun day, and so wonderful to be part of an old school friends wedding day.

Emma & Ahmed's Wedding - St. David's Hotel, Cardiff http://www.michellehuggleston.com/blog/2016/11/emma-ahmed---st-davids-hotel-cardiff A wet and rainy Saturday in September saw me shooting Emma and Ahmed's intimate wedding in St. David's Hotel in Cardiff. I started the day photographing bridal preparations in the hotel with Emma and her mother, it was a lovely and relaxed girly morning.

The afternoon ceremony took place in the Penarth Suite a lovely room, perfect for an intimate wedding. Although the weather meant we couldn't step outside for photographs, we decided to have fun around the hotel creating unique and fun photographs throughout the hallways and lifts. This really allowed us to explore exactly what the hotel had to offer, and it didn't disappoint.

This was such a lovely and laid back day finished off with a relaxed evening with sparklers, lovely food and entertainment from Musician Scott Morgan. It was wonderful to be part of Emma and Ahmed's wonderful day.
